When Russia invaded Ukraine, thousands of people fled abroad for safety, many to UK. Wealden in East Sussex was one of the districts in England hosting the most. Not many were able to be housed iin East Hoathly area so we raised funds to provide newcomers across Wealden with cash on their arrival, before local authorities were able to commence their support. We were able to welcome 3 generations of one family in the village who have settled here as welcpome neighbours.
